About

About KING HENRY FILMS:

KING HENRY FILMS is a benevolent, independent film company that was founded in 2013 by Robert Henry. Our primary mission is to create thought-provoking films that sends powerful messages to society while spreading awareness and providing entertainment.

Our latest short film, SCORED, follows Jacob, a young Black gay composer in LA, who lands a gig scoring a film about grief, only to find himself exploited by an industry that undervalues his artistry and identity. As he navigates inadequate pay, a disconnected director, and a Black narrative controlled by outsiders, tensions rise with his partner, Bae, whose support wavers as Jacob compromises his integrity for exposure. When his own unresolved grief subconsciously seeps into his music, he is forced to confront his self-worth, artistic integrity, and the sacrifices made in pursuit of his dream.

TO RAISE A CHILD (2018) is a dramatic-suspense film that focuses on a couple whose marriage has been torn because of the murder of their son due to police brutality. Seven months later, the family discovers who the true killer really is. Written and Directed by Robert Henry.

The short film premiered in June 2018 and since then, “TO RAISE A CHILD” has been selected for four film festivals — the San Francisco Black Film Festival, Capital City Black Film Festival, DUMBO Film Festival and the Toronto Black Film Festival.
